CharlieandBenpayavisittoapub,thendecidetovisitaswankyrestaurant.Nowintoxicated,theycomeintoconflictwithaFrenchdandyandhisladyfriend.ThelargeheadwaiterviolentlyejectsBen,andlaterejectsCharliealso.Thepairpayanothervisittoapub,thenmaketheirwaytotheirhotel.Theybecomeinterestedinaprettyyoungwomanstayingintheroomacrossthehall,butwhenCharliespiesonherthroughthekeyholeabellboymakeshimstop.Charlieistakenabacktorealizethattheyoungwoman'shusbandistheheadwaiterfromtherestaurant.Hepromptlychecksoutandmovestoanotherhotel.Meanwhile,theheadwaiterandhiswife,dissatisfiedwiththeservice,alsodecidetomovetoanotherhotel--and,unfortunately,choosethesameoneCharliehaschosen,andoncemorewindupintheroomacrossthehallfromhim.Whentheyoungwoman'sdogrunsintoCharlie'sroomshefollowsinherpajamas.HerhusbandreturnstofindhiswifewithCharlieinanapparentlycompromisingposition.
